I am RAW Miami Makeup Artist of the year!

I am so excited! As of November 22nd 2013, I was picked as Raw makeup Artist of the year for Miami. This year I have been grinding hard and I have been through a lot. Last year in 2012 I had to rebuild my life after leaving an abusive relationship. I was left with nothing and with nothing I held on to my dreams.

My experience prepared me to fight for everything that everyone told me I couldnt have. I am so blessed and honored to win and now I have the opportunity to compete in the nationals in Los Angeles, California.

My journey to start as a makeup artist professionally started in february. I always knew makeup was a passion. But growing up in a Caribbean background that wasn't an option.

This year I followed my dreams and my heart and because I believe in myself everything has fallen in place! God is the key to my success!!

Types of Foundations and Matching Skin Combinations

I am going to cover the basics on Different kinds of foundations and the coverages. I will also cover the types of skin to use it on.

1. Liquid Foundation: Can be used on all skin types but you have to be cautious and look at the ingredients. If it is oil free it can be used on all skin types.. If it has Oil you want to be very cautious on using it on oily skin.. Brands of Liquid Foundation are MAC Match Master, Loreal Lumi, Mary Kay and Many More. Before purchasing if you want to know which one to purchase consult with your esthetician or dermatologist. Below are pictures of Liquid Foundations

2. Cream/ Stick Foundations: They are great for Full coverage. Highly recommended for mature skin and dry skin. A very little amount can give you a full application. If you are using on clients. You will need to use Disposable spatulas to remove the foundation from the container. Oily Skin Can use Cream Foundation but your skin will get oily quicker than usual!! Examples or Cream an stick foundations are Black Opal, AJ Crimson, MAC Studio Tech and many more..

3. Powder Foundations: Powder Foundations can be applied wet or dry and a lot of people don't know that. Some brands are made like that not all. But powder foundations are great for setting liquid foundation. To avoid the white look from the white translucent powder. They can either come in pressed or powder form and are great for all skin types. But if it is a mineral based product it is not recommended for dry skin. It will dry your skin more. Every brand of makeup carries a powder so if I were to list them all the list would never stop lol. But below is an avon pressed powder..

I hope you enjoyed my quick blog on different foundation types and skins they go great with..
